I started Act IV and finished the notebook part, it was incredible!! I loved this part, it was so well done!

What?? There’s a new book by 김영민 and I didn’t know! AND it’s a prequel to the 한규현 series! I didn’t even know it was a series, I remember that, after finishing 수상탑의 살인, I was thinking that it would be cool to read more of 한균현’s cases, so can’t wait to start 해신당의 살인.

Unfortunately though, it’s not available as ebook yet. Looking at 수상탑의 살인 it became available as ebook two months after paper publication, and 해신당의 살인, was released on September 9th, so it’s probably worth waiting then… but when I set my heart on reading a book, I’m really not patient… I could just go to the bookshop and buy it paper tomorrow. At the same time, there’s another book by Kim Yung-min published last year that I also missed, 난사 사진부와 죽은 자의 마지막 피사체, and this one is available as ebook, so it would make sense to read this one first while waiting for the digital publication of the other…

(I checked the stocks in Kyobo bookstores, and only a few have it, and every time it’s just one copy. The book only released last month! I don’t understand… the author won the 한국추리문학상, the most prestigious Korean literally award for crime fiction, and this book belong to the same series than the novel that won the prize. Why aren’t there piles of this book everywhere?)

So I did buy 난사 사진부와 죽은 자의 마지막 피사체 first, and given that I probably won’t want to read the same author twice in a row, I’ll read something else when I finish it, and then the other one might be available as ebook. Or I might just forget entirely and read other authors for a while before remembering I wanted to read 해신당의 살인.

In any case, 난사 사진부와 죽은 자의 마지막 피사체 belongs to a series called 고블 씬북, a collection of “thin books” that are mostly genre fiction. They’re short and meant for entertainment and easy, fast reading.

I can confirm, because I already read almost half of the book!

Finished the third story! It was so cool spending time with the characters, I really loved this one. It’s funny to think that during all this time Hao-kun must have been thinking “who the heck is this guy” and have a mystery of his own to solve.

There’s really nothing to new to write at this point, I loved all the stories of this collection, narrators were excellent, and it’s a shame I can’t find their name.
I feel like this collection contained more supernatural elements than the others? so I might have loved it a little less? I’m not even sure though.

The start and premise of the story were so strange, but I loved it, it was a good mix of coming of age and mystery, with topics such as overcoming discrimination. The parts about the cat were difficult to listen to though, would not necessarily recommend because of that.

I have Vodyanitsa’s notebook!! I didn’t know there was such a thing in the game, it’s so cool. Vodyanitsa’s is the meeting point I progressed the most I think.

I also made some more expeditions in the shadow realms and upgraded my pass, so I unlocked some more blueprints to upgrade my weapons.

I finished Act III, it was really great! There were so many different things to do, and many new characters too! I’m loving Vesna much more than I thought I would.

I really enjoyed all the parts at the bank, I even found it a bit stressful at times haha.

Can’t wait to continue!

Finished chapter 2 and it seems that the setting part is done now.
The story seems to go in one obvious direction, but things might also not be as simple and straightforward as they look.

I can’t shake off the feeling that the character of Chiharu is lacking something. She is describing really a situation and daily life that’s becoming more and more suffocating but doesn’t comment or react to it, she’s just accepting it. She doesn’t seem to have any emotion at all.
